Baby Lucas

We went to the park the other day. Lucas went on the swings with mommy and daddy. He also went down the slide with daddy.

He is getting so big! Today at church, someone remarked that Lucas looked like a toddler. I've often thought that myself but if you really know Lucas, he is a baby at heart. He is so fun to be with during the day. I'm glad I get to spend my time at home with such a little joyful baby.

Last night Lucas was so sleepy but he wasn't in a good position. Click on the picture to see how cute he is trying to fall asleep.

Lucas had a fun time at the Gymboree Halloween party. He came roaring in as a little Lion.

Lucas has been doing so much lately. This morning, and in the car on the way home from his Halloween party, he said "dada". He can also sit for longer periods of time, and even get up on his hands and feet for a short time.

He is growing up so fast. Pretty soon, he will be mobile and we'll wear ourselves out trying to keep up with him.

Lucas is taking a nap today before we go to Gymboree. Usually he doesn't take a nap and gets really tired in the middle of the class. He is all bundled up in his Winnie the Pooh blanket.

So far we have tried peas and carrots with his rice cereal. Today we are going to try sweet potatoes. When he first had carrots he loved them! He ate the whole jar. He won't eat a whole jar of peas though. We are going to wait just a bit longer before we give him fruits because we don't want him to prefer fruits to veggies.

At night Daddy spends a lot of time hold and playing with Lucas. Lucas is so happy to see Daddy when he gets home. I'm glad for the time he spends with Daniel because it gives me a chance to relax a little.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Sorry for the time between posts. We have been keeping ourselves busy with various things. This last weekend my Mom, Dad, and Becky came up to see us. We had a lot of fun outside and saw the beauty of God's creations. I'll just direct you to my mom's blog to see pictures (click here). Next weekend we are hoping to see Daniel's parents and spend sometime with them.

Lucas has been saying a lot more. He has gotten mama down and is close to saying baba. He mostly says mama when he wants someone to pick him up or he is in a "mood". I don't think it really means anything, he just does it because it is new for him and fun to do. I have to cut this short because Lucas is not happy right now and needs me to hold him. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Lucas has been so active lately. He likes to roll to the places he wants to go. He struggles to crawl and is not quite there yet. We are noticing everyday how much energy this little baby possesses. He will be so excited about something, you will see his little face light up and his little body just wanting to burst with excitement then the very adorable squeal to follow. He amazes us every day.

5 days following the appearance of his first tooth, the neighboring tooth made its appearance. Lucas is now the proud owner of two beautiful little baby teeth. Although it is exciting to see them every time he gives us a big grin, we have had some pretty rough days and nights with his uncomfortable cries.

Mommy was frantically looking for the baby book they had bought prior to Lucas's arrival and had no luck in the location of it. Last night daddy asked mommy to come to the under-the-stairs closet and to her surprise he was holding the baby book. On the front cover where his two little foot prints (you can't imagine my excitment in seeing those little footprints). We were so worried it had been throw out during the move. It would have been very sad to loose the first footprints Lucas had made upon entering this world.

Another adventure we have encountered is the starting of solid foods. We are starting out with rice cereal and have made very good process. Lucas is taking it like a champion. We have a small bowl in the morning for now. Soon we will start introducing vegetables into his diet. Of course we are still nursing. We will continue that until a minimum of 1 year old. After that we will see how long it will last.

That is all for now. We hope that you all are enjoying these months of Lucas's life. We just wished that you all could be here to experience it first hand. Lucas is such a blessing in our life and God really made His little boy very special.
